Vitoria

The capital of Araba, Vitoria is an interesting and historic city. There are a number of Renaissance palaces and fine churches in Vitoria. The Plaza de Espana is the perfect place to take an evening pre dinner stroll and choose which restaurant appeals. San Miguel Church is popular with visitors with its statue of the Virgin Blanca, the patron saint of Vitoria. There are museums dedicated to the arts in Vitoria including the unusual Fournier Card Museum. For palaces visit the magnificent Escoriaza-Esquivel Palace, one of the best in town.
