Ankara

The capital of Turkey, Ankara is home to many historical places. Anitkabir, is a large and imposing structure that is the mausoleum for Ataturk. A historical site to visit is Ankara Citadel, with several thousand years of history within its fortified walls, from Romans to Byzantines. Among the many museums located around the city, Ankara Air Force Museum shows the aircraft that have previously served Turkey, including the F-104 Starfighter, F-4 Phantom and F-5 Freedom Fighter. Atakule Tower in Ankara features an observation deck to view Ankara as well as a revolving restaurant.
