The two sides of Edinburgh will charm you. There is the old medieval city, and there is the New Town with its broad avenues and classical Georgian architecture. The first thing you will notice is the Edinburgh Castle sitting dramatically above the city, perched atop a cliff. You will want to visit the castle and the Royal Mile, then continue on to visit the many museums of Edinburgh, most of which are free. It is a bicycle-friendly town as well as being an easy walking town. Traditional tea shops with scones and cream teas, pubs with typical pub fare, and luxurious restaurants make for an enchanting dining scene and nightlife.
