Isle of Skye

Scotland in miniature. Imagine an island that represents the most romantic elements of a wonderfully romantic country and all of which can be visited in a day. Stunning mountain ranges, glorious lochs and fantastic Talisker whisky can be enjoyed on one of the most dramatic looking islands in Europe. The Black Cullins range of mountains reward the more adventurous with wonderful climbing opportunities and a chance to spot golden eagle and red deer whilst the more sedate visitors can enjoy fresh oysters by the water.

Although the second largest island in Scotland it is easy to traverse in a day by car giving a wonderful opportunity to see all that the island has to offer at leisure. Accommodation on the island come mostly in the form of B&B’s and hotels and there are options to suit every budget, where you stay mostly depends on what you are looking to do; Portree is the largest town on the island and houses a number of good quality restaurants and hotels but if you are seeking a more isolated holiday that that you should head to lovely Dunvegan to visit the castle and enjoy the peaceful loch.

Been here a few times and always enjoyed it. Seen plenty of rain and midges but also sun into the very late evening in the Summer months. Walking in the Cullins is an excellent experience.
