Manama

The capital city of Bahrain, Manama has a number of tourist attractions and historic areas to visit. Tourists can see where oil was first discovered in the area at the Oil Museum. The museum, built in 1992 to celebrate six decades of oil, houses equipment from the oil industry as well as photographs documenting the history and other memorabilia. Bahrain Fort may have been first built nearly five thousand years ago, and the “Portuguese Fort” that now sits on the site is four hundred years old and a popular tourist attraction. Barbar Temple and Salman bin Ahmed Al Fateh Fort are more historical sites in Manama.
