Red Deer

When exploring Alberta, tourists will often visit Red Deer as it is on the road between Calgary and Edmonton. Red Deer has many parks and trails to explore, with the Bower Ponds in Waskasoo Park somewhere to go canoeing while Discovery Canyon Park is a water park to enjoy in the warmer months. When it snows, head to the Canyon Ski Area for the fun of cross-country skiing. Red Deer is within driving distance of downhill skiing at Sunshine Village, Lake Louise and Banff’s Mount Norquay. Red Deer hosts the annual Centrefest Street Performer Festival, this occurs in summer and features many types of street performers.
