Big White

Big White, which covers 2705 acres, is a particularly family friendly ski resort. They welcome families, have excellent child centred lessons, and daycare for children from 18 months to 5 years.

Over half the skiable terrain is graded either beginner or intermediate so making the transition from the gentle early slopes to more challenging runs is easy. Visitors can choose from groomed slopes, or fluffy powder.

For those who want more challenging terrain, Big White offers it with 22% dedicated to experts.

The main street of the village is car free so getting around the area is easy. As the resort is part way up the mountain access to the slopes is easy. The on-mountain accommodation, many of which have outdoor hot tubs, gives great options families who want the ease of a place to ski-in ski-out.

Big White offers numerous dining options in atmospheric bars and restaurants. Food options include a tasty bakery to fine dining.

Families are happy and keen to return to the Big White again and again. But other groups also enjoy the very fine snow which falls on Big White.

Terrain: 18% beginner, 54% intermediate, 22% expert and 6% extreme. The longest run is 7.2 kilometers.
