Fernie

Fernie has a reputation for being an unpretentious, friendly ski resort and it is hidden in the heart of the majestic Canadian Rocky Mountains. Its 2504 acres has terrain to suit all ability levels and its slopes are un-crowded.

Beginners have a great choice of runs and a dedicated area, on the lower mountain, near the resort centre. The runs are well marked.

Intermediates and advanced skiers and snowboarders have a diverse range of terrain which includes five alpine bowls, chutes, and tree trails. There are around 119 trails. There’s some challenging terrain to keep the experts entertained all day long. Whether you like good cruising runs, or steep drop-offs, you will find them at Fernie.

Fernie has one snowpark. Fantastic cross-country skiing is available, but you must take a guide who will know the terrain.

The on-mountain resort has a selection of bars and many restaurants but the town of Fernie, which is around 5 kilometres away, has an even greater choice. There is accommodation at the resort and more in Fernie.

Accommodation options include cute mountain chalets, lodges and hotels.
