Fort Langley was the place that the Crown Colony of British Columbia began and tourists will want to visit the Fort Langley National Historic Site to learn all about it. The area was originally a part of the Hudson’s Bay Company, as fur and other goods were traded there. Later the fort would be built on the site. The Fort Langley Storehouse dates back to 1840 and is said to be the oldest building in British Columbia. Other parts of the historic site have been recreated or restored, with the Big House and Depot being two examples.
