Portage la Prairie

Portage la Prairie, just west of Winnipeg, has much for tourists to do on and around the Assiniboine River as well as nearby Lake Manitoba. During the summer months, the Splash Island water park is open. The Island of Lights show is an attraction to attend, with thousands of lights creating many different and bright displays. Classic automobile fans will want to attend the Vintage Cruisers Annual Show and Shine. Portage la Prairie is also home to several historic sites with the Fort la Reine Museum providing a look at vintage buildings and famous Canadian Pacific Railway railcars. The Portage Golf Course on Island Park is nearly one hundred years old.
