Saint John

The City of Saint John, on the St. John River which has the highest tides in the world, was the site of many battles in the past and now tourists flock to these historic sites. The Carleton Martello Tower, a relic from the War of 1812, Fort Dufferin, Fort Howe and Fort LaTour are open to visitors. Many people take to the water of the Bay of Fundy and go whale watching. There is delicious seafood to eat at restaurants in Saint John, as it is caught fresh in the nearby ocean. In 1935, actor Donald Sutherland was born in Saint John.
