Gander

Gander used to be where planes crossing the Atlantic Ocean had to stop and refuel before flying to their final destination in Canada or the United States of America. To celebrate this, Gander now has exhibits, displays and festivals about flight. When arriving in Gander, visitors will notice the Atlantic Wings exhibit in Gander International Airport’s domestic passenger lounge. Gander’s North Atlantic Aviation Museum houses historic aircraft and memorabilia from civilian and military aviation. Planes on display include the Voodoo CF 101, Lockheed Hudson Bomber, Consolidated Canso and Beech 18. Every summer Gander hosts the Festival of Flight.
