Yellowknife

Yellowknife is a unique place to travel to. Tourists can play golf during the summer nights when it is dark for only a short amount of time or if they arrive in winter can ride on a dog sled over frozen lakes. The largest city in the Northwest Territories, Yellowknife is a lot closer to the Arctic Circle than it is to Edmonton. Yellowknife is called the “Diamond Capital of North America”. Yellowknife and the surrounding region will be familiar to those who watched the television show Ice Road Truckers, which would follow the trucks as they drove over the ice road to the mining operations.
