Iqaluit

Somewhere different, and certainly far away from other places, to visit is Iqaluit on Baffin Island. Iqaluit is closer to Greenland than it is to many Canadian cities. There is a lot to do around Iqaluit and at the Katannilik Park jet boating is popular while at the Sylvia Grinnell Territorial Park hiking and fishing are two activities to try. St. Jude’s Cathedral, of the Diocese of The Arctic, is a stunning building both inside and out. It is a bright, white dome with a spire in the middle. Inside, St. Jude’s Cathedral is furnished with many traditional items from the region.
