Summerside

The second largest city on the island, Summerside is famous for its Summerside Lobster Carnival. The lobsters caught in the waters around Prince Edward Island are some of the tastiest in the world and the Summerside Lobster Carnival has celebrated the lobster for more than fifty years. The Summerside Lobster Carnival is more than just hosting lobster suppers, celebrity guests from all over Canada take part and there is an opening ceremony and also a parade. A highlight of the carnival is the Sink or Swim Cardboard Boat Challenge. At The Shipyard, there are souvenirs for sale as well as lobster to eat in the Lobster House Restaurant.
