Gatineau

Located across the river from Ottawa, Gatineau is a popular destination for tourists. Gatineau is home to the Canadian Museum of Civilization. The building is a landmark with its distinctive design. The Canadian Museum of Civilization also contains the Canadian Postal Museum, the Canadian Children’s Museum and an IMAX theatre. As it is located on the Ottawa River, water activities are prevalent around the Gatineau area. Many tourists will want to paddle a canoe or kayak along a creek while Gatineau has three marinas that cater to sail boats and other watercraft.
