Yorkton

People travel a long way to see the St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton. The reason is the wonderful paintings on the inside of the church’s dome. They were done between 1939 and 1941 and are very unique in North America. Yorkton, Saskatchewan also has historic buildings to see and with the Yorkton Historical Walking Tour visitors are shown where to view them. During summer in Yorkton, the Threshermen’s Show and Seniors’ Festival is an event to go to. The annual Yorkton Film Festival has been going for more than six decades and the grand prize is The Golden Sheaf.
