With a reputation for being laid back and with a friendly vibe, Breckenridge, or simply Breck to those in the know, remains a popular winter playground for many who return year after year.
Covering 2,358 acres over four interconnecting peaks, there is a tempting range of challenges, particularly for the experts. Over half of the terrain is suitable for experts.
However, Breckenridge caters to every skill level with plenty of options for intermediates and for those beginning the sport. This is a good place for beginners to find their balance and have some fun.
Its 31 lifts ensure you get to the top of the runs quickly. The longest run at Breck is Four O’Clock which is 3.5 miles. Breck was one of the first ski resorts to allow snowboarding and today boasts four terrain parks to keep the most ardent boarder amused and challenged.
After a day up the mountain, the historical Victorian town of Breckenridge has plenty to offer – great bars, superb shopping and dining options. If you still have energy to burn, there’s even an outdoor ice skating rink.
Terrain: 14% beginner, 31% intermediate, 55% expert.
