Savannah, Georgia is a major Atlantic seaport and a major metropolitan city. The architecture of the city’s historical buildings attracts visitors from all over the planet. This was the birthplace of Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of the Girl Scouts of America, too. The downtown Historic District is filled with many museums and buildings to explore, all of which are on the National Historic Landmark Registry. The city annually hosts major sailing competitions and is a wonderful place to either spend the day walking or out on the water. For the culinary fan, this is where FoodNetwork favorite Paul Deen’s restaurant The Lady and Sons can be found.
