Cape Cod

Cape Cod is an island about an hour away from Boston that is blessed with good weather and fabulous beaches, which makes it a great holiday destination in New England. There are many reasons to fall in love with it, its beautiful lighthouses, cranberry fields, gently rolling terrain.

Pick a town you would like to use as a base and fan out from there for day trips. Plan on a lot of beach days as the beaches are superb. If you love to bike, rent one and enjoy the Shining Sea Bikeway that starts in Falmouth and takes you by cranberry bogs and marshes. Or drive out to the very end of the island to Provincetown to take the famous Whale Watch Tour.

Visit the Cape Cod Winery in Falmouth for a taste of their local cranberry wine. And leave plenty of time to savor the Cape Cod National Seashore, with its 40,000 acres of wild dunes and wide open beaches.
