Solitude in Utah is the place to head for if you want some peaceful skiing in stunning mountain surroundings. Situated just 40 minutes from Salt Lake International Airport, Solitude Mountain Resort has 1200 acres of skiable terrain which is suitable for all ability levels.

Whether you seek wide open spaces, superbly groomed trails, tree skiing or unpacked powder, Solitude has it. It is a ski resort that welcomes skiers and snowboarders.

The Snowsport Academy offers lessons in alpine skiing, snowboarding, telemarking and Nordic skiing. So, whether you want to learn the sport, have fun in the snow or focus on refining your techniques, there’s something here to suit everyone.

Styled on the European ski resorts, the pedestrian village has comfortable places to stay in a picturesque setting. It offers ski-in ski-out accommodation.

After a day up the mountain, some other activities to try include ice-skating, snowshoeing, swimming in the heated pool or relaxing in a hot tub. Club Solitude’s comfortable theatre shows movies every evening or, for something different, you can make S’mores over an open pit.

Terrain: 20% beginner, 50% intermediate, 30% advanced/expert. There are 65 named trails and three bowls.
