Smugglers’ Notch consistently rates number one for its family orientated programs and visitors keep coming back year after year.
There is a bewildering array of activities on the three interconnected mountains – enough to keep adults and children of all ages busy and happy for many hours.
The staff of the state-licensed Treasures Child Care Centre are specially trained in helping children feel comfortable in a new environment. They accept children from the age of 6 weeks to 3 years, so parents can enjoy the wide open spaces knowing the children are safe and happy.
For older children and adults the Snow Sport University has expert staff and an excellent, varied program.
Well over half of the terrain comprises blue and green runs which are graded from absolute beginners to intermediate and advanced. If children want a break from the very fine snow, or have had enough time out in the fresh mountain air, there’s the Funzone family entertainment and recreation centre.
Adults and thrill seekers are not forgotten either as there are some advanced runs and a triple black-diamond trail.
For those who don’t want to be out on the snow, Smugglers’ has a varied program of alternative activities, such as arts and crafts workshops, an indoor pool, and hot tubs.
Terrain: 2965 acres. 13% beginner, 56% intermediate, 31% advanced/expert. There are 64 named trails. The longest run is 3 miles or 5 kilometers.
