An incredibly historic city, Alexandria, Virginia has a lot to offer. Located on the west bank of the Potomac River, this city is just a short six mile drive from the heart of Washington, DC. The historic Old Town is filled with many streets to peruse while walking. Filled with restaurants, cafes, antique shops and novelties, the feel of the historic Old South is still alive in Alexandria. For the sightseer, there are many historic homes to explore. For the nature lover, there are plenty of parks to hike through or to enjoy a picnic while simply people watching.
