For gorgeous scenery, amazing powder, un-crowded slopes and great value skiing, Grand Targhee is a sure winner. Take a winter vacation at Grand Targhee, have fun on the slopes and visitors will probably still have leave money left over for other adventures.
Grand Targhee is spread over two mountains – Fred’s Mountain and Peaked Mountain. The resort is nearly 2000 acres and it gets around 13 metres of snow annually. It has amazing powder.
70% of the terrain is on-piste and suitable for those at an intermediate level. It’s probably not the mountain for extreme skiers as they will find more challenging terrain on other nearby mountains. However, for those keen to try powder and make their own tracks in the amazing bowls and glades, the Grand Targhee could prove the best decision for a winter vacation. The popular Jackson Hole ski resort is close.
There’s an excellent ski school for all ability levels. An early tracks program with expert instruction aims to get skiers on the mountain carving their own tracks early in the day.
The opportunity to take advantage of cat skiing gives more options.
There is slopeside accommodation or, in the town, a range of places and good dining options.
