La Plata

La Plata is located just to the northeast of the sprawling capital city of Buenos Aires and is home to nearly 700,000 inhabitants. The diverse city has a variety of different ethnicities predominantly from European and Middle Eastern descent. Soccer is huge here and the city is home to the two well known teams Gimnasia and Estudiantes.  While La Plate isn’t a huge tourists destination, many visitors of nearby Buenos Aires will take weekend tours of the city to see some of the well preserved historical sites in the city.
