Sao Luis

Located on an island in Brazil’s north coast, Sao Luis is home to over 1 million residents. The well preserved historical district is an excellent are to explore and the heavy French influence is evident in the architectural stylings. The culture here is comprised of predominantly European and African decedents, making for a great mix in food and music. Though tourism is growing, Sao Luis is not nearly as popular of a tourist location as the many Eastern coast cities that thrive off of foreign tourism and thus, the city retains a more Authentic vibe that is refreshing to many tourists.
