Visit Colombia and you’ll be surprised to find that alongside the fine Caribbean beaches and Amazon jungle are modern skyscraper-filled cities such as Bogotá, alive with museums, markets and a thrumming nightlife. The diversity here is astonishing. One day you can be on safari down the Amazon, and taking a 3 day hike to Cuidad Perdida, a pre-Colombian lost city the next. Or spend some time relaxing in the colonial town of Villa de Leyva before setting out to hike or bike the surrounding hills.
