Falkland Islands

With a natural environment that has been immaculately preserved and fascinating cultural and historical sites, the Falkland Islands (or Islas Malvinas in Spanish) are a photographer’s paradise. Once the site of the Falklands War, the land is now a hotbed of wildlife such as penguins, albatrosses and seals, and large numbers of sheep. In Stanley you can join the locals in the pub for some interesting anecdotes but most of your time in the Falklands will be spent ogling nature’s gifts. See black-browed albatrosses at Steeple Jason or penguins at Sea Lion Island or just set off to walk the island without any set itinerary and allow yourself to get lost in its beauty.
