Maracay

Maracay is located in the north of Venezuela near the Caribbean Sea. The city however has more of a Venezuelan vibe than Caribbean and despite its seaside location; the city see’s very little foreign tourism. The Venezuelan Military has a big influence over the city with two large air force bases nearby. It is not a place for the first time traveler, but is definitely worth seeing for the brave and well travelled nomads looking for those cities that haven’t been corrupted by mass tourism. The cost of living is also quite low in Maracay, adding to its appeal.
