I was in Singapore a few months back and had a very good day and cost me nothing.. apart from food. We walked it all and easy to do as the pavements are wide and clear. The heat at times can be a a little annoying but just go into a Mall and cool off.

Little India for markets and temples and similar in Chinatown. The Esplande with that funny looking building the Arts centre is all free and there are often free events. Keep walking and explore the Marina Sands area where you can walk all around the lagoon.

Maybe visit a Mosque, walk down Orchard Road for the shopping.

A little further out and means using public transport are the Botanical Gardens and a bit further out is the MacRitchie Reservoir with Tree Top Monkey walk and other trails.

There is much more and all is detailed on Singapore eGuide.. take a look.
