Suvarnabhumi Airport

Suvarnabhumi Airport, also famous as (new) Bangkok International Airport is located about 29 kilometres (18 miles) east of Bangkok, Thailand. The airport officially became available for all international flights and most domestic flights on 15 September, 2006. The airport is the meeting point for Bangkok Airways, Thai AirAsia, Thai Airways International, Orient Thai Airlines and the new Thai Tiger Airways.

There is accommodation for over 15,000 vehicles to park in the two six-storey parking garages and parking lots, which are open 24 hours a day. Options include short and long term parking and disabled facilities. Parking is patrolled by airport police.

Ground transportation choices include limousines, public buses, airport bus service and taxis. The airport is linked to metropolitan areas by major expressways from each direction.

As one of Asia’s busiest airports, it has one main and seven passenger terminals. Amenities include shopping, bars, ATM machines and currency exchange, as well as restaurants with authentic Thai and other cuisine. The airport also contains shops which specialise in handmade Thai crafts and products. Information desks and facilities for the disabled, business and conferences are also available at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
